Hello and welcome back,
Mindset is one of the hardest things to get right, so start thinking about being more positive now!
The best time to start was in the past, the second-best time to start is now!
If you associate with eagles, you will learn how to soar. If you’re always walking around with the chickens, you’ll never learn how to soar like an eagle. Find out ways to position yourself to hang out with the eagles.
What will you have to learn if you ask to sit with some higher-up colleagues that you don’t normally sit with for lunch?
See what they’re doing, and replicate it, then do it better!
Write down your goals, you’re 42% more likely to succeed if you write it down.
Imagine if your boss is ALWAYS looking, would you still be doing the things that you do at work?
Never, never, never surrender your dream to the noisy negatives. My mom said one of the most valuable comments to me as a kid. “ No one can make you feel anything” UGGGHHH I hated that, but she was so right! No one can make me feel anger or sadness if I don’t let them. Find ways to take the negative and leverage that to your advantage. Have you ever realized the people who usually tell you that you can’t do something, haven’t ever really don’t much for themselves? Again- never surrender your dreams to noisy negatives. They can’t kick you down unless you let them.
I was told that I shouldn’t be manager, then 6 months later, in a review, I was told that I was the best employee ever- listen to more in episode 2.
Take risks and aim high. Read or listen to the book “Ready, fire, aim” by Michael Masterson. The whole concept of the book is to prepare/ get ready, the fire begins and the aim is to correct and find out where your target it and redirect. So many of us, me included, have paralysis due to not being perfect. Nothing needs to be perfect to launch. If I waited until I had 10 episodes lined up and created before releasing, I never would have started a podcast. I was late and didn’t get to release my podcasts how I wanted them to be because of a family emergency- which I was using as an excuse, we all do it. BUT I’m back at it and continuing to create content for YOU!
Remember -Being anything other than an optimist doesn’t serve you.
What I started doing to help me stay accountable to my work is to write out weekly what I was going to do after work. I work during the day with my husband on our Amazon business and I come home and work on my business, Mon, Wed, Thur, Fri, Sat, Sun. Tuesdays I have Toastmasters which only helps me in this business, but it’s also a night off. I started with a whiteboard calendar, I write in red the events that I have to go to, like Toastmasters or family functions. In purple, I write what I would like to do this week and I have a green checkmark next to the things I complete.
I’ve also heard that being really diligent and writing down everything you do every 30 minutes will help you understand what you’re doing with your time. If you’re great at scrolling through the IG or Facebook, then put a timer on your phone for a certain amount of time, or only scroll when you’re in the bathroom. I haven’t tried this yet, but I will soon! The calendar really has helped me stay focused a lot! It doesn’t have an amount of time on it, but I know how satisfied or dissatisfied I will feel in myself if I do something else when I should be working on another task.
I’d also like to mention that…. (I’m hesitant (but happy) to even say this…) I’m offering my Career Elevation Course for $49 if you prepay. Now is your time to fix your mindset and soar with the eagles.
